  • Description: The Italian General Pecori and General Maistre review the Sassari Brigade of the French Army, passing between the ranks. As the review is in progress a French Spad 13 overflies the parade twice, quite low. A formal parade by Italian troops through Venice, with watchers throwing flowers at their feet. The camera, at a high window, shows an Italian soldier (a major in the Bersaglieri), a French soldier and a British soldier leaning out of the window to watch.A troop train arrives, the men alight, form up, lead horses from the boxes and wheel limbers off the flatcars, cinching the equipment together. More American troops march in column through a residential area. Two American soldiers pose with their horses for the camera.Prime Minister Clémenceau arrives and the staff takes him to see the new defensive positions. At Dannemarie he gives a speech and kisses little girls who wear traditional dress. He inspects a guard of honour at Massevaux, shaking hands with the officers, and goes on to meet members of the local council and clergy. His car arrives at Thann where he meets and embraces veterans of the Franco-Prussian War and is given a bouquet by a little girl. He goes on to talk with other small children.
